BMW CAN Racing Dash2 settings

The Racing Dash2 digital dash can be connected to OEM BMW ECUs.

Hardware Connectivity

Check your ECU Pinout diagrams for the location of the CANL and CANH wires. They are twisted together and normally run from the engine ecu to the ABS ecu. These two wires are usually NOT connected to the obd port on bmws before 2008. Splice and connect them to the corresponding terminals on LDperformance Racing Dash2 preferably again using a twisted pair cable.

Software configuration on Racing DASH2

Connect the Racing Dash2 to a windows laptop using a USB to Serial adapter cable (not supplied) Run the Configuration Software available from here. Drag and drop parameters from the right “Data from ECU” to any position on the dash. For BMW OEM ECUs the following parameters should work: RPM, Coolant temp, TPS, Oil Temp, Speed. Press Save to keep settings.
